AMC has taken delivery of six Maeda MC285CB-3 fully battery-powered mini cranes
The first fully battery-powered mini crane from the market-leading Maeda is growing rapidly in popularity due to its great capabilities and zero emissions. AMC, former known as A Mini Crane Hire, has taken delivery of no less than six Maeda MC285CB-3 and continues to expand its business with a focus on sustainability. AMC is a leading provider for UK crane hire with depots in London and Liverpool.
With a sharper focus on sustainability and low emissions compliance, the need for innovative technology and machinery has become essential for the lifting industry. Mini cranes are already more environmentally friendly with their low carbon footprint compared with larger cranes. Their compact dimensions and ability to manoeuvre mean that in many lifting situations they replace the need for tower cranes and mobile cranes. The new MC285CB-3 from Maeda is operated with absolute zero emissions, allowing the crane to be used in sensitive indoor environments, and when the strictest regulations need to be achieved. By delivering the capacity, reliability, and flexibility required for the most demanding operations, the MC285CB-3 builds on the successful legacy of the MC285C-3 model. Equipped with a strong lithium-ion battery it is fully electric-powered and still equals its predecessor in both operation speeds and lifting capacity.
Mark Davenport, Managing Director at AMC, ordered its first three MC285CB-3 from Kranlyft UK in July 2020, and just two months later ordered an additional three, making the total of six cranes. All were custom painted at the factory and equipped with the optional 850kg searcher hook. With Kranlyft Group being a reliable partner working with AMC for many years and the master distributor of Maeda in Europe, Mark and the team at AMC felt confident with the service and expertise provided. The company also bought a Klaas K750RS aluminium boom truck crane from Kranlyft UK last year to add to its broad machine portfolio.
Founded in 2009, AMC is a trusted provider in mini crane rental, boasting a fleet of 60-70 mini spider cranes, and over 80 glazing robots and floor cranes, and providing innovative solutions for short and long-term construction projects across the UK. In its commitment to sustainability, AMC is making changes and taking decisions with the environment in focus. With its new battery-powered Maeda cranes and other innovative machinery, it has the option of offering its clients modern, high-tech and sustainable equipment to fulfil each job.
Andy Crane, Sales Executive at Kranlyft UK comments:
”It’s been a pleasure getting to know Mark although we only met recently due to the current situation, he showed an interest in the new Eco Maeda MC285CB-3 from the very start and is passionate about expanding AMC’s existing fleet of innovative lifting machinery with the latest technology in environmentally friendly equipment. Mark’s first order for three MC285CB-3 came at a great time for the Kranlyft Group as it was four months before the release of this new model, and the second order of a further three cranes gave us a great start in the UK market with Maeda’s first Eco machine. We would like to thank Mark and the team at AMC for their continued support and confidence in the full Maeda range. We appreciate their commitment to Maeda’s first Eco mini crane.”
Eddie Charity, Managing Director at Kranlyft UK comments:
”AMC has an excellent reputation and long history of entrepreneurial experience. These are very exciting times for us at Kranlyft UK and AMC for the Maeda brand. AMC is a natural partner with its extensive experience in the field of contract lifting, great technical knowledge and a well-established network reaching over various markets and industries. We feel very confident that this will be the start of a great association for Zero Emissions solutions with Mark and the AMC team.”
Mark Davenport, Managing Director at AMC comments:
”AMC has many years of experience of operating Maeda spider cranes, and they are robust and very reliable. The 285 is the most popular model and we have 15-20 units in our fleet, and I was delighted to hear that Maeda was launching an all-electric version. These new units demonstrate our commitment to delivering quality and reliability to our customers, our commitment to growing our business and also our solid commitment to sustainability.”
